My name is Jaron Schneider, and I am a chef and food photographer. I’ve been around food my whole life, thanks to my parents who were determined to make sure I could care for myself when I left the nest. My father especially wanted me to become comfortable in front of a range because he did not learn how to cook until he was well into his twenties (he even thought he hated pizza because his mother’s cooking was so terrible). I learned the fundamentals the hard way- failure. I stood along side the best in California, learning their technique from imitation and long conversations. My parents welcomed testing flavors in the kitchen, and as long as I cleaned up my mess, I was free to cook anything I wanted.
I have worked the line, catered events for hundreds of people, and even competed in Iron Chef competitions. These days, I love to cook for the sake of cooking. I find it cathartic and truly relaxing. Sharing the flavors from my kitchen with those I care about is one of my greatest joys. So please, let me share with you!
